About

1936256839Your unique journey is yours to tell.

Every family has its unique story; some families are created biologically and others through foster care and adoption. Some parents take this journey alone, while others do it with the support of a partner.

Although each family may look different on the outside, all families are alike in that parenting comes with its challenges!

Parenting may be the most challenging job in the world.

You brought home your child, and no one gave you instructions on how to raise this human being. There was no guidebook, so you had to figure it out yourself.

Meeting your child’s needs for food, clothing, shelter, education, and healthcare is not easy. But simply meeting those needs doesn’t seem to be enough.

You long for peace, happiness, respect, communication, etc.

Something is missing, but you’re not sure what it is.

Together, we will explore what your family is experiencing, identify the root causes of your child’s behavior, and learn different ways to address these challenges.

The process begins with your email or phone call to contact me. We will schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation to determine if I am a good fit for your family. If we decide to continue working together, we will schedule a 60-minute appointment to meet in the office or virtually.

During this appointment, I will learn more about your family’s story and information about your child’s and your family’s current needs. At the end of this appointment, we will determine the best plan for our future work together.

About Samantha

AdminMy passion for children and families started when I was young.

Throughout my high school years, I had the opportunity to take multiple trips focused on serving people. Sometimes these trips involved a lot of physical labor. Still, I remember returning home feeling happy and fulfilled about connecting with people, hearing their stories, and being a small part of their journey.

When it was time to decide what I wanted to do after high school, I knew I wanted to work with families. I attended UNC Greensboro and graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor’s in Social Work. I went on to earn my Master’s in Social Work from NC State University in 2016.

Since then, I have obtained my license as a Clinical Social Worker. I have worked with children, adolescents, and families in various settings, including offices, schools, homes, and other community-based settings.

When I’m not working with families…

I am most likely spending time with my family, including my husband and three children, two girls, ages eight and five, and a two-year-old boy. We stay busy with multiple extracurricular activities each week, but we love to slow down on the weekends, spend time outdoors, visit local stores in our town, play, watch movies, and be together.

My joys outside of my family are animals. I often joke that we have a small zoo in our home, with three dogs, two cats, two rabbits, two gerbils, two turtles, and many fish – it’s not far from the truth.

There may be an extra furry face or two around our home at any given time because I foster animals through our local shelter while they wait for their forever family to find them. There is truly nothing sweeter than bottle-feeding an orphaned kitten! It’s always hard to say goodbye to my foster babies, but I love being a temporary part of their lives!
