Clinical Supervision

Congratulations! After years of hard work, you have obtained your degree and are ready to step into your career as a Clinical Social Worker.

But you aren’t quite ready to do it on your own. In North Carolina, you must receive 3,000 hours of Clinical Supervision before becoming eligible to take your exam to be fully licensed.

You’ve graduated with a master’s degree and have received a provisional license to work with actual clients. The moment is here, and it feels too real. You’ve been hit with a case of imposter syndrome, doubting yourself and believing you are incapable of providing effective services.

Clinical Supervision allows you to increase your knowledge, enhance your skills, and develop your professional identity, giving you the confidence to show up and be the best clinician for your clients.

My background helps me be a better supervisor.

I worked in community mental health for five years before opening my private practice. During this time, I gained experience working with clients in multiple settings, including homes, daycares, schools, and traditional office-based locations. Because of those experiences, I understand the unique challenges Clinical Social Workers face in mental health agencies.

In my work with clients, I use a client-centered approach. I bring this same approach to my Clinical Supervision. You know what successes you are having and where challenges are coming up for you in sessions.

You know the areas where you need to grow. I will walk alongside you, providing you with support and guidance as you gain competency in the field and gain the ability to provide ethical services to the individuals you serve.

If you are ready to further your growth as a clinical social worker and gain the hours you need to meet the board’s requirement to sit for the exam, give me a call at (336) 289-4492.
